Care for some Harem pants?

No thank you...but a lot of people want them for some reason....seriously how can they make you look good. I understand the comfort issue but lots of loose fabric around your hips and thighs then tight at your knees or calves...I have no idea how they can be flattering for 97% of the population...I'm leaving 3% for the genetic freak...if you are a genetic freak please understand that I use that term in a loving way...because I am not stick thin and can't wear the couture fashions that I would love to. Although I think my bank account thanks me for being a bit chunky...actually scratch that it doesn't thank me it just sighs in frustration at my constant shopping.

Shopping in London was very fun, I spent about 6 hours walking up and down Oxford St spending oodles of money. I have been asked for photos of my purchases..I will try my best to post them in the next couple of days. Here's the inventory of my shopping adventures in London (for the entire time I was there..not just Friday):

1 pair Clarks heels
1 pair paint splattered sneakers
2 bags
1 long necklace
4 scarves (2 are presents)
3 T-Shirts
1 tank
1 blouse
1 3/4 sleeve jacket
2 skirts
10 dresses
3 belts
4 fashion prints (from markets)
1 pair Clarks sandals (bought in Dublin)
Art Deco fashion book
flower bracelets
flower ring

I'm probably forgetting something as well!

I tried some jeggings on and if they had them in my size I would have bought them. They were comfortable and not skin tight! they looked good on, I forgot to take my camera that day (trying to lighten my bag) but if I can find them here I will take a photo.

Fashion in London is all over the place but there definitely is a London style, didn't get out to Camden which would have been great for fashion watching..next time.

I'm home in Vancouver, jet lagged but otherwise glad to be in the sun..need to keep my tan up. I will be back up and running on 'What's happening in Vancouver'

Back in London

Turkey was fantastic! The tour was way too short though was a bit less than a week..I got to see alot but it would have been way better to do a longer tour and really get into the country. I joined a group of 9 that had been travelling for 2 weeks together already so I was a bit concerned about being alone the whole time (I had a single room...the other girls were already paired up)...but not to worry met some great people and the tour was great.

I'm back in London...shopping tomorrow very excited...I will have to take some pics of what I buy and post them at some point. I already bought my extra bag (took it to Turkey instead of my big one....very good decision).

I've been thinking about the jeggings and may have to try a pair on....just to take a pic of them...I'll post that too.

I was not in the shopping mood in Turkey...shocking I know!!.....I think if I had more time I would have got into it...but I did buy some jewellery...one very nice ring and a couple pairs of earrings (from a women against violence and discrimination craft fair thingy)...that just means I have to go back :)

Off for dinner and rest..so tired.

In London

Arrived in London on Monday night, was sad to leave Galway but happy to be in a new place with lots of plans...and only a couple days for Turkey. Is it weird that I'm not as excited about Turkey as I think I should be? I'm happy to be going since I don't think I will get the chance for a long time after this, but I guess it's because I always come to London at the end of a trip that I feel like I should be going home.

Had a very busy day yesterday I think I saw more in one day than the last time I was here for 3 days!! Walked around Covent Gardens, saw an awesome shop which I went to again today and bought decorations for my place, lots of black, white and pink! Then headed over to the London Eye, which I have always avoided but it was really cool and the day cleared up so the views were great, took a lot of pictures. Walked along the water to the Tate Modern, I like art but I really don't get a lot of modern art, I always think that I could do most of it...or my nephews could...should get on that and make loads of money off them ;p

You can definitely notice a difference in style from Vancouver and the UK, it's subtle but there is a real difference. As someone mentioned the majority of girls wear dresses and skirts either over tights or bare legs. I do like the dress trend, if most of you didn't know already :) about half my closet is dresses and by the end of this trip the dress section will expand. Already bought 2 dresses today....they were on sale so it's ok. Haven't gone into Primark or New Look yet, saving that until I get back into London, I have to get creative packing after that shop. I have learned my lesson from last time and if I really like something and it's a brand we get in Canada I am not going to assume that it is carried in Canada, bought some Clarks sandals for C$45.

Dublin tomorrow

Off to Dublin for 1 day then heading to London. This was a fantastic start to my vacation..I actually had a vacation not running around tons of places and trying to see as much as I can..that's going to be the next 2 weeks. I got to hang out, sleep in, watch some movies and shows, generally being a lazy bum.

Had my first sighting of jeggings the other day..they are the new thing in leggings. Leggings that look like jeans, the could just have the colouring or fake pockets and zippers. I am not going to buy a pair..don't worry...although they would be more comfortable then some jeans out there.

Bought 2 belts so far...I'm very proud of myself, but I know my control will break soon.
